Print Substrate Kind: summary of the different intended styls of print substrates

Paper Stamp: postage stamp printed and / or embossed on paper

Provisional Paper: paper provisional used for the production of postage stamps

Native Paper: rough, voluminous paper without surface handling

White Paper: during the manufacturing process bleached paper

Imbued Paper: during the manufacturing process coloured paper (front and back are always in the same colour)

Coloured Paper: paper web with coated or printed surface colour on one or two sides (front and reverse can have the same colour)

Handmade Paper: by hand produced paper

Machinemade Paper: by machine automatically produced paper

Pulp Paper: paper made from chemical open up wood

Parchment Paper: brittle, hard, transparent, greyish paper

Rag Paper: paper made from old textiles (e. g. cotton)

Wood-pulp Paper: low-grade paper which can contain small pices of wood

Wood-free Paper: paper without small pices of wood

Laid Paper: paper with a fine grill

Cloudy Paper: paper with an uneven dispersal of the inherent parts

Granite Paper: paper with during the manufacturing process added coloured silk fibres

Thin Paper: paper with a low grammage (paper weight)

Thick Paper: paper with a large grammage (paper weight)

Cardboard: very thick stiff paper with a area-related mass over 150 g/m²

Transparent Paper: very thin transparent paper with visible design print from reverse

Plain Paper: paper without surface texture

Rough Paper: paper with an uneven surface texture

Satin Paper: high processed paper with a mechanical smoothed surface

Chalky Papier: paper with chalk-like sub-stances on one or two sides of the surface (e. g. casein, kaolin or chalk)

Linen Paper: thicker paper with a fine quadrille structure

Toilet Tissue: soft, absorbent paper hold together with an embossing

Japanese Tissue Paper: thick, stiff, tough long fibre paper

Aluminium Stamp: postage stamp printed on with aluminium foil coated paper
